Smashing Pumpkins Concert TicketsThe Smashing Pumpkins are wrapping up their concert tour very soon. So far, there have been great raves about the Smashing Pumpkins concert wherever they played, and their distinct style of alternative rock music is the kind of magic that Smashing Pumpkins fans can expect.

The Smashing Pumpkins was formed in Chicago in 1988 and then were disbanded in the year 2000. Original Smashing Pumpkins members Billy Corgan (vocalist) and Jimmy Chamberlin (drummer) eventually got the band back together, and were joined by musicians Jeff Schroeder, Ginger Reyes, and Lisa Harriton.

In 2007, the new line-up of the Smashing Pumpkins released Zeitgeist and took that album on a tour around the US and Europe. The Smashing Pumpkins were well received, and the brilliance of their earlier career seemed to have never faded as fans were quick to flock to their concerts, which were mostly sold out.

In 2008, the Smashing Pumpkins also released a four-song EP called American Gothic, which is also part of their current tour, their 20th Anniversary Concert Tour. In September 2008, Smashing Pumpkins released the single G.L.O.W. and while the Smashing Pumpkins are on the tail end of their tour, there are several plans drawn up for the future of the Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin are planning to commence work on a multi-year, multi-release concept album, which will surely be a treat to fans of Smashing Pumpkins.

Meanwhile, catch the Smashing Pumpkins at Las Vegas, Nevada, La Jolla, California, Universal City, California and at their home court in Chicago, Illinois. All Smashing Pumpkins Concerts will be performed until the end of the year.

BCS National Championship Bowl Tickets Available Here

Alabama Crimson Tide Expected To PLay in BCS National Championship BowlThe best football teams in US college football will be taking the field at the Dolphins Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on January 8, 2008 for the BCS National Championship Bowl. The BCS National Championship game will be played by the top two teamsĀ  in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.

The BCS relies on a combination of polls and computer selection methods to determine relative team rankings, and to narrow the field to two teams to play in the BCS National Championship Game held after the other college bowl games. The winner of this game is crowned the BCS national champion, and is guaranteed at least a share of the national championship.

The system also selects matchups for the other prestigious BCS bowl games. The ten teams selected include the conference champion from each of the six BCS conferences plus four others (”at-large” selections). The BCS was created by formal agreement among six conferences, and has evolved to allow other conferences to participate to a lesser degree. It is not formally recognized by the NCAA as a collegiate championship.

Nevertheless, the BCS National Championship Bowl is one of the great highlights in college football whether or not it is formally recognized by the NCAA. For football fans, it is a chance to witness football played by the best teams in the USA.

As of now, the BCS Standings and rankings have the Alabama Crimson Tide as the number 1 ranked team in the BCS standings followed by Texas Longhorns as the number 2 ranked team. Other teams ranked among the top 10 still vying for the top two slots include: the Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators, USC Trojans, Utah Utes, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Penn State Nittany Lions, Boise State Broncos and Ohio State Buckeyes. Any of these top teams may see action in the BCS National Championship Bowl.

New England Patriots vs New York Jets Tickets Available Here

New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel

It would’ve been a great match up to see New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady vs Brett Favre of the New York Jets, but as it stands Tom Brady will be out of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in their season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Of course, the injury to last season’s NFL MVP Tom Brady will indeed be a setback for the New England Patriots, who were predicted to have the best offense in the NFL. Instead, the New England Patriots will have to rely on back-up quarterback Matt Cassel to take up the helm.

Matt Cassel didn’t really have a great pre-season, but was still able to lead the New England Patriots to a slim victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on their opening NFL game. Matt Cassel better step up his game if the New England Patriots want to have a shot at winning against the New York Jets.

Meanwhile, Brett Favre and the New York Jets tore up the Miami Dolphins during their season opener 20-14, and will look to extend their winning streak on Week 2 with a win over the New England Patriots. While Brett Favre may have only thrown for a rather average 194 yards against the Miami Dolphins, he had a lot of support from the likes of New York Jets running back Thomas Jones, who rushed for over 100 yards and is among the top 10 rushers in the NFL after the first week.

New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss earned big numbers in Week 1 to put him among the top receivers in the NFL, but it might be a bit difficult for Randy Moss to do the same especially without Tom Brady passing to him.
